In this camp, students will learn how to adapt their people drawing skills into different styles. They will explore cartoon, anime, and realistic drawing techniques, learning how to adapt and modify the human form.

Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner Level
3 lessons//1 Week
 Week 1
Lesson 1
Day 1: Drawing in a Cartoon Style
• Overview of how different cartoon characters are styled based on their personality. • Learn to simplify facial features and body features to achieve a cartoonish look. • Practice drawing exaggerated expressions and dynamic poses common in cartoons.
Lesson 2
Day 2: Drawing in an Anime Style
• Overview of the characteristics of anime art style. • Learn to draw anime faces, such as large eyes and simplified noses and mouths. • Practice drawing a complete anime character.
Lesson 3
Day 3: Drawing in a Realistic Style
• Utilizing realistic face and figure drawing techniques. • Focus on depth and detail to make drawings more lifelike. • Practice shading techniques to enhance three-dimensionality of the figure.
  • Students will learn how to adapt their skills into different styles when drawing people.
Teacher Ang is a professional artist and 3D Modeler. She earned her BFA in Animation from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Aside from working as a Freelance Gameplay Animator and 3D Artist, she loves encouraging her students’ curiosity and helping them develop a passion for art. She strives to teach students skills that can bring their voices and ideas to reality. She believes that by building a foundational skill set, her students will be able to approach their artworks with new perspectives.

Certificate of Completion
Frequency: available upon request
Details: An E-Certificate of Completion with grades will be provided for learners who have completed all sessions and actively participate in class activities, including sharing their work at the end of each meeting. Learners who miss more than 2 meetings or do not participate in showing their work may not be eligible to receive the certificate.
