In this engaging one-time class, students will go on a musical Penguin adventure while learning lots of beginner American Sign Language vocabulary, enjoying music, puppets and a story along the way!
Class experience
In this engaging 30-minute class, students will learn to sing & sign along to a “Hello Song”, meet my puppet “Blue” and some “Penguin Pals” for a party! We will find out what these silly Penguins like to do while learning lots of American Sign Language in a FUN and engaging way. Learners will follow along as we sign our way through two complete winter-themed songs, answer simple questions in ASL, and hear a penguin story entitled “One Snowy Day”! We will review ASL number signs, learn over 40...
Students will practice the ASL signs introduced in class by showing family & friends what they have learned!
Miss Dena has been teaching beginner ASL for 8 years, she is cheerful and patient with young learners and will meet them exactly where they are, developing their abilities through repetition and song. All of her classes are well-planned and designed to engage children in a fun and relaxed way, while instilling a love of learning through music and play!
Students can bring a penguin or any stuffed animal to the party!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
