Description

Class Experience

Students will learn a different array of basic pencil techniques to sketch realistic animals. They will follow a step-by-step approach using basic shapes to sketch out an animal in line. They will proceed to discover the various relationships between the lines, shapes and proportions of the animal. They will then use a mixture of loose hatching and cross-hatching techniques to apply some dark tones in order to create the three-dimensional form of the animal. Shading
Value
Grayscale 
Framing
Smudging
Layering 
Hatching/ cross hatching

Paper
Pencil (a variety of graphite pencils recommended, but not mandatory)
Eraser
Blending tools such as tissue paper, Q-tips and cotton balls, etc.
