This class is an ongoing format. Students will sketch a new landscape every week. Each week is charged as a subscription on Sunday mornings. Students can join or leave the series any week. Prior attendance and knowledge of the subject is not required to attend. Class will: 1. observe the relative positions of subjects, map out the frame, identify shapes and particularly look for shadow shapes (mapping light and dark) 2. learn how to use lines to create shapes and forms, how to use values to...
Students will gain knowledge in these areas: Shading Value Grayscale Framing Smudging Layering Hatching/ Cross-hatching
Paper Pencils (a variety of graphite pencils recommended) Eraser (kneaded/ gum eraser recommended) Ruler Blending tools: Toilet paper, tissue, Q-Tips, or blending art tools like paper stumps
