Learners are introduced to PEMDAS or BODMAS as a tool to remember the order of operations. Together, numerous expressions  are evaluated using the rules with clear step by step explanations.  Learners are encouraged to participate and explain the rules they are using.  Next, learners use their PEMDAS tool to work as a group or in pairs with the activity sheet of expressions.
