Paws and Learn: How to Take Care of Your Small Breed Dog Ages 7-11
What's included
1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing class, we will focus on different aspects of taking care of your small breed dog. Each week you will join me and my dog Bear as we demonstrate and discuss how to care for your pet. On a 8-week rotating schedule topics that will be discussed are: How to bond with your dog, fun and enriching games that help train, and are fun. Tips and tricks on how to socialize my dog and introduce him/her to new experiences. Problem behaviors, how to address excessive biting, barking, or door dashing. Student-led questions & Your Dogs Super Powers How can I keep my dog healthy, and how to spot warning signs that may need attention from the vet. How to keep my dog clean and well-groomed. Housetraining, crate training, and training basic tricks and commands. Students are welcome to bring their dogs to class to get live feedback and help, but it is not required. This class is also open to students who do not have a dog yet but are thinking ahead and want to prepare, however, I find that the class is more enjoyable and hands-on if the student waits until they have their new dog or puppy so they can practice each week the principles being taught. I have an excellent one-time class (titled Paws and Learn: Are You Ready for a New Puppy) for students wanting to prepare for a puppy ahead of time! https://outschool.com/classes/paws-and-learn-are-you-ready-for-a-new-puppy-mztKdcwP?usid=1EFpCxPT&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link

Teacher expertise and credentials
I've had small dogs in my home since I was born. I've learned a lot about best practices through study and research as well as hands-on experience in taking care of my own small dogs. I have 4 daughters whose ages range from 4-13 who I've taught how to take care of our dog Bear.
It's my passion to learn everything I can about small dog care. In my classes, I only teach positive reinforcement and relationship-based training. I'm working towards getting certified as a personal dog trainer.
I have a website www.pawsandlearn.com where I write articles about different aspects of dog care I'm researching. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
