Class Experience

Is your dog's breed winning popularity contents? Now you can find out! This class covers the most popular dog breeds (based on American Kennel Club registration statistics).

The class content will include information about their traits, care, history and more! Learners will be encouraged to participate in critical-thinking discussions and make connections between breeds. They will also be encouraged to think about whether or not the specific breed would be a good fit for them.

Learners will also have the opportunity to draw the breed and share their art at the end of the class (please note that I do not teach drawing skills). A worksheet is shared in the classroom every week which can be filled out during class time.

Some examples of breeds covered: Labrador retrievers, French bulldogs, German shepherd dogs, bulldogs, beagles, Rottweilers, etc. The full schedule, including any breaks, can be found below.

After each class, I share articles for further reading and a short quiz which will help the learners check their understanding. I also encourage students to share any animal news/documentaries/facts/photographs, etc with their peers.

I am a inclusive teacher who aims to ensure my classes are a safe space for learning & growth. In my class, all children are welcomed and embraced.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a specialisation in counselling. In the past, I have worked in primary and high schools offering individual & group counselling, life skills courses, and psychometric testing. I am currently working in Youth Empowerment Services for local government.

I have also always had a passion for wildlife & conservation and have done extensive research on all of my class topics. Dogs have always been a special interest of mine and I can still occasionally be found with my nose in a dog breed book.

All of my classes are taught with patience and compassion, and I aim to create a safe, comfortable place to facilitate your child's learning.
