Description
Class Experience
Students will: - learn about a new dog breed each week - use critical thinking - share prior knowledge - gain confidence to ask questions - complete fun quizzes after class to check their knowledge and understanding of class content
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a specialisation in counselling. In the past, I have worked in primary and high schools offering individual & group counselling, life skills courses, and psychometric testing. I am currently working in Youth Empowerment Services for local government. I have also always had a passion for wildlife & conservation and have done extensive research on all of my class topics. Dogs have always been a special interest of mine and I can still occasionally be found with my nose in a dog breed book. All of my classes are taught with patience and compassion, and I aim to create a safe, comfortable place to facilitate your child's learning.
A worksheet is shared in the classroom every week which can be filled out during class time and students can complete a short quiz after class to check their understanding.
1 file available upon enrollmentAn optional worksheet will be available in the classroom upon enrolment. This can be printed out every week. Learners will need paper and pencils/crayons/markers (this is optional for those learners who may want to draw during class).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class includes discussions about health issues which are common with each breed, ethical breeding and how to spot backyard breeders, and docking/cropping. No graphic images are shown.
I have compiled the information for my classes using reputable sources, including websites and books. I refer to the American and British kennel club standards in this class.
