US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
In this one time class, your child will listen to a story about ‘Paulette, The Pinkest Puppy in the World’. It’s easy to be sad or embarrassed because you feel different than everyone else. We will follow Paulette as she learns that you should love yourself just the way you are! Not everyone looks the same and that is ok! If you have a stuffed animal, bring it along to hug on while listening to the story! After, we will talk about ourselves and what makes us unique such as having blue eyes, brown hair, wearing glasses, etc. Finally, each child can draw a picture of themselves to share with their friends and family. My hope is that each child will leave my class knowing that they are special and can tell why they are special as well! :) *Wear your favorite color and share your favorite toy! ** My teaching style is organized and full of fun while being relaxed and friendly at the same time. So come be a part of my class!
Learning Goals
*The students will recognize their personal uniqueness and be able to communicate special qualities about themselves.
*The student will work on being a good listener, raising their hand to speak while learning to make a prediction of what will happen next.

Howdy! I am so excited to be here! I have a BS in Elementary Education with a Kdg. Endorsement and a Reading minor from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Education from Lamar University!
I have been teaching for over 36 years which has included Pre-k thru 2nd grade and I am certified to teach up to 8th grade. I am also certified Gifted and Talented, as well as ESL. My passion is literacy which includes reading, writing, language, speaking, and listening. I incorporate literacy throughout all subject areas and look forward to making your child’s learning fun and interesting at the same time! As a teacher, I want to motivate my students to enjoy the learning process. I want them to be able to make real-life connections through reading and become critical thinkers as they grow in their learning. I am a Texas girl living in Michigan and I am also the proud mother of an Aggie lawyer, Brandon who is married to an Aggie lawyer, Lesley! They live in the DFW area. No grandchildren yet. In my free time, I like to make quilts, paint on wood, go camping with my sisters, and work on my flower beds. I love the color pink! Finally, I have 2 miniature schnauzers named Cooper and Sawyer! They are brothers and pretty silly! I can’t wait to meet your son or daughter. See you soon!
