Patterns in Nature Mathematics

Patterns in nature mathematics is an exploration of math in nature. Have you ever noticed the beautiful repeating patterns found in nature such as the spiral found in seashells, flower seed heads, galaxies and even the human ear cochlea?

Class structure:

Class begins with a short video about math found in the world around us followed by the Slideshow lesson. Students can optionally fill out the study guide questions as I go through the presentation. We will have discussion together as we go through the Slideshow. All of the answers are found in the Slideshow. After the Slideshow, there is student/teacher discussion and Q & A about the topic.
