Class Experience
In this class, students will learn how to make 2 of the most commonly used icings in pastry: vanilla buttercream and chocolate fudge frosting made from a ganache base, both of which are perfect for icing cakes and cupcakes. In terms of class structure, each class will be a live demo where students can follow along and make the icings with me as I cover the step by step instructions for each recipe. I am graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute in French Cuisine. I am also Owner and Pastry Chef of Gâteaux Maliniak which is a catering company specialized in desserts and wedding cakes.
A list of ingredients and equipment will be shared to the classroom upon registration.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will need to use either a stand mixer or electric beaters, as well as either microwave or stove top for these recipes.
