Description

Class Experience

In this class your child will be learning how to make 4 different pastries: eclairs, petit fours, tarts, and cream puffs. We will focus on one each day. I will be teaching your child how to read a recipe. Tricks for making your food turnout just right. I will also go over the presentation of their pastries.
My mom taught baking classes and I was lucky enough to learn from her many great baking skills. I have catered many different events using the recipes that I will be teaching your child. I have not only served them to small and large groups but I have also taught children 8 - 18 how to make these recipes for over 6 years.
The homework for this class is to watch the video and make the pastry. Post a picture or video of the their pastry, post a positive comment to a classmate, answer 3 questions that I will ask in the classroom, and play a Kahoot game with their classmates. They can also make a drink to go with the pastry but this is optional.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
All assessments are informal. I will be looking at pictures of their pastries and commenting on them. I will also send each student a certificate of completion when they have completed the class.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will be using ovens, oven tops, and knifes for this class. If your child needs assistance with any of these things please be available to help them.
