Class Experience
Students will have a unique, hands on experience, as they create a dot painted flower design with spring colours. I lead by example - students will follow along as I teach the dot painting process. This will be demonstrated in a step by step instructional manner. I will be showing how to use the tools to paint this way. We will be learning about paint texture, depth and contrast. I have taught this painting technique to people from 6 to 30 year's old for the last four years.
Round tools for dots (chopsticks, knitting needles or any stick with flat round ends) You can look up on YouTube Dot painting tools. Protected table surface ( Paint on a flat space) Craft Acrylic paint: colors required, black & white I also bought a pakage of craft smart paint called Pastel, there were four colours in this.They were Light yellow, Coral Red, Robin's Egg Blue and Celery green, also had a bit darker green for highlights. Small canvas or wood or ceramic tiles square or round. best 3 to 4 inches in size. The back ground of what you are painting on must be painted before class starts, for paint to be dey and ready to work on. Compass for drawing/ ruler. Flat paint brush Bowl of water and rag Paint dish or paper plate. Have all the things set up before the class starts
I do not give a letter grade but if you are home schooling this could be an art project.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
