Students will be required to taste their recipes, to share them with their family and to clean up their work area.Class Experience
No previous cooking experience is required. Students new to the kitchen will learn how to prepare two basic recipes to enjoy with family and friends. These will include an Italian pasta recipe and an American Baked Macaroni & Cheese recipe. We will use Google Slides, live demonstration and discussion. Students will follow along with the teacher in identifying, measuring and combining the required ingredients for this recipe. Students will have adequate time and ample opportunities to ask questions and to ensure that they are accurately following the provided recipe. Participants will have to purchase their own ingredients or use alternatives already available in their home pantry. Parents will assume responsibility for the safety of their children while in the kitchen.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to become familiar with various kitchen tools and cookware. Students will learn about to follow a basic recipe, how to measure ingredients and to identify two kitchen safety guidelines.

Parental Guidance
We will make use of a stove, an oven, knives, non-stick pots, pans and baking trays. We will also make use of measuring spoons, measuring cups, a grater, a strainer, wooden spoons, a whisk and a cutting board.
Participants will contact me regarding any substitutions due to food allergies. Possible allergens include soy, dairy, gluten and mustard.

Cooking has been a passion of mine from a young age and has given me a sense of independence. I have particularly enjoyed learning about food and spices from all around the world through my travels, creating my own recipes and sharing them with others through online cooking demonstrations.
