US Grade 1 - 4
Learners will learn how to train their dogs to do various tricks using treats and a clicker if available. Learners will also understand the difference between a trick and a command. These tricks will include shake, bow, high five, crawl, roll over, spin and ring a bell. Teacher will model the trick using a demonstration dog or a her own dog. Students will take turns practicing the trick with their dog. Teacher will demonstrate the steps in training the trick by getting the behavior, adding the verbal, and fading the treat lure. This is a one time class, so we may cover only one or two tricks for that session.

Students will learn how to teach their dog how to do various tricks using treats and a clicker.

Parental Guidance
Dogs are unpredictable and may not all learn at the same rate. Some dogs may not be able to due certain tricks due to age and size. Also, space is needed to do tricks. Dogs are recommended to be able to sit and be at least 4 months old.
Supply List
Dog training treats, leash, dog, small pieces of meat or cheese, clicker (optional) and a bell.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher is an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and tester observer with Alliance of Therapy Dogs and has trained and certified five therapy dogs of her own. Some tricks are not recommended for older or arthritic dogs. Also, dogs do not learn at the same pace and some tricks are more suited for certain breeds.
