Class Experience
In this one-time class, Putter will help learners discover strategies in potty training/housebreaking their puppy or dog in 21 days. The topics covered in this class will focus on potty training/housebreaking a puppy or dog. The lesson will include tips for scheduling breaks and feeding to improve puppy regularity, tools used in potty training such as potty pads and crate, and techniques in crate training your puppy for the purposes of potty training. Students will learn the basic training techniques to potty train a puppy or dog in twenty one days.
Teacher is a certified elementary school teacher, dog trainer, therapy dog tester/observer, AKC Evaluator and teaches puppy classes at the local parks and recreation department in her community.
Learners will spend time taking their puppy or dog out for pottying every 2 to 3 hours. This can take 10 or 15 minutes each time they are taking out their dog. Amount of time depends upon how long it takes puppy to potty or how often other family members are available to take out the puppy.
None. Puppies or dogs do not have to be present in class. This class is good to prepare if you are bringing a new puppy home, so learner doesn't have to have a puppy yet.
Student will be assessed in class by checking for understanding. A successfully trained puppy that has few potty accidents is the outcome for this class after up to 21 days.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
