(Teddy Bear - Theme) Parts of Speech With Mad Lib Word Game, Craft & a Song

A One-Time teddy bear-themed class learning/reviewing parts of speech with a teddy bear presentation & song about all eight parts of speech. Students then participate in a teddy bear Mad Lib word game, and a pipe cleaner teddy bear craft.

Class Experience

Are you ready to laugh, learn, and create all at the same time?

A One-Time teddy bear-themed class reviewing parts of speech. Listen to a fun song about them. Participate in a Mad Lib word game about teddy bears. Follow with a teddy bear craft, creating a teddy bear pencil topper with pipe-cleaners in any color desired. 

We will connect learning grammar with laughter, games, art, and music related to teddy bears.
Learners are really beginning to learn about parts of speech in Language Arts...

* Students will practice and identify basic parts of speech through review by verbally talking about definitions and examples of the 8 parts of speech, then using that list in a Mad Lib.

* Students will experiment with word substitution by completing a Mad Lib as a class.

* Students will increase hand dexterity by learning how to manipulate pipe-cleaners, and creating teddy bears that are three-dimensional.

*Students will use music to help them understand how parts of speech are used in a sentence

Materials:
*Pipe cleaners- Students can choose any colors they want. I will be using brown for most of it, and light brown for the nose and inside of the ears. A handful of each color should do it.
*Small googly eyes- Sometimes at Dollar Tree for 1.00
*Glue- With parental permission, they can use hot glue and glue sticks or what is called tacky glue. It is safe to use, and It holds a little better than traditional white glue. Usually only a few dollars at Walmart or Amazon. However, I do encourage the decision to use hot glue. Some parts have a very hard time staying together without it. (parental guidance)

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

scissors, glue, and/or glue gun with sticks should have parental guidance.
