Mad for Parts of Speech
Class experience
Students will learn nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs in a playful and hilarious way. They will interact with their peers. The class is energetic with students moving around the house to find objects. Plus students will create word lists for each part of speech. Most students do not enjoy taking notes so I came up with two unique notetaking strategies. If students struggle with spelling or writing, they can draw a picture instead. One of the best ways to learn is through play. We will play with our words to learn nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Students will hear a hilarious story created with their words. Students will state nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.
Well, as a child, I owned many Mad Lib books. I brought the books with me to friends' houses, parties, and family get-togethers. Okay, I brought the books everywhere. I became an expert at a young age. When I started teaching way back in the early 2000s, I brought some of my Mad Lib books to class. My students never heard of Madlibs. WHAT?!? The students were hooked after the first story. When it was time to write, I did not need to teach the main parts of speech. They learned through fun Mad Lib story creations. I still bring Mad Lib books or my phone with the app to family get-togethers! I am certified to teach preschool through 9th-grade. I earned a Master's Degree in Education. I enjoy working with children. I have coached soccer on and off for eons. I have facilitated a wide variety of clubs and social groups. I stopped teaching in public schools, 2 years ago to homeschool my son. We are involved with an active homeschooling co-op. We love exploring, adventures, and laughing while we learn. While homeschooling my son, I have enjoyed teaching English online to students in China. Over the last year, I joined Outschool. I mostly teach writing and confidence classes. I have enjoyed this journey.

"I don't know what to write about. Why do I have to edit my paper? I don't like writing." Have you heard similar statements in your home? I heard these statements so much that I decided to do something about it. I studied various ways to teach...
