Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 8
This class is all about the building blocks of language and grammar: the parts of speech. Each week, we'll dive into a new topic, helping the learner understand how these elements work together to create meaningful sentences. By the end of the course, learners will have a strong foundation in grammar, making you a more confident reader and writer.

This class will be taught to emphasize the kinds of words we use in everyday speech and writing, without getting too deep into obscure technicalities of grammar.

Supply List
I strongly recommend students use a note-taking device (tablet, pen and paper). Even if it's for quick notes, it will help them to keep course content in one quick place, as opposed to looking back through videos.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Film/Cinema/Video Studies from University of Calgary
I have a Bachelor's degree in Film Studies from the University of Calgary, and am currently completing my Bachelor's of Education at St Mary's University in Calgary. All this time in post-secondary has given me plenty of practice with reading, writing, editing, and proofreading essays, projects, and other scholarly work. Reading and writing are two of my lifelong passions. My father is a retired high school ELA teacher, and I thank him for my sharpened sense of grammatical accuracy.
