The parts of speech are the foundation of all types of writing. Without strong knowledge of these elements, students may have difficulties with clearly expressing their ideas in writing. This five-week self-paced class goes over the definitions and examples of the eight parts of speech (nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections) using video lessons and guided notes. *Students will be able to define and provide examples of parts of speech by viewing video lessons and completing guided note sheets *Students will practice identifying parts of speech elements in sentences by playing games *Students will demonstrate knowledge of the parts of speech by completing an end of course Blooket Test
The instructor is a certified Teacher of English (K-12) and Reading Specialist (P-12) with over 10 years of teaching experience.
Homework Offered
Students should complete all the components of each lesson.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The instructor will monitor students' progress through Blooket scores and will reach out to students/families if a student earns below a 70%. There is also a final test at the end of the course.Grades Offered

There are guided notes for each PowerPoint lesson video. Please reach out to the instructor for specific accommodations :).
Teacher created videos and guided notes will be posted in the classroom. Students need a pen/pencil to complete guided notes (they can also be completed electronically)
