US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Studying animal classifications, the body parts of animals and their life cycles is a big part of the traditional Montessori science curriculum. In this class we will start by learning the characteristics of mammals while looking at pictures of different types of mammals. Children will then have the opportunity to ask question and have a discussion about the material learned. After that we will talk about the life cycle of a reindeer and place pictures and names of the different stages in order. To finish, the students will work on a parts of Rudolph booklet where they'll color and write the different body parts. I will post a file with the two pages for the booklet and a life cycle page two days before class. It should be cut and stapled prior to class.
