Part 2 Continuing 4 Week Beginner Piano Camp for Primer Students (Age 6-10)

In this 4 week multi-day piano camp, primer students will meet once a week for 30 minutes to learn basic skills in reading music, proper technique and performing. Students will build on what they learned in the 6 Week Beginner Class.

Description

Class Experience

This is a 4 week multi day class building on what was learned in the 6 week beginner class. We will continue in the Faber Adventures Piano Series Primer lesson book. Students will learn to express themselves through music and hopefully cultivate a life-long appreciation for music. I have been teaching piano lessons for 25 years and use this particular piano series in my home studio. Here is a brief overview of what we will cover in our 4 week primer class.  

Week 1: The Grand Staff

I have been teaching piano lessons in my home studio for 25 years. 
My students play at the Festival for the National Federation of Music. 
I am a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs Teaching Association.
I started taking lessons at age 6 and took lessons for 13 years. 
I played piano in the jazz band and accompanied choir in school.
I played in the Festival for the National Federation of Music as well as other state competitions. 
I received a music scholarship in college. 
I have played piano for some weddings.

During the week, children are encouraged to practice the songs that we learn in class. This should take 10 minutes at each sitting.

We will use the Primer Lesson Book in the Faber Adventures Series.

30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
