Description
Class Experience
Day 1: Students are given an Initial Assessment and each individual answer is entered into their profile for my knowledge throughout the class. Custom, interactive homework is assigned. Day 2: Homework review with a focus on weak areas. Students are asked fun multiple-choice video questions. Answers are given in chat. 2 points for every correct answer. I give answers and explanations after each question is answered by students. Custom, interactive homework is assigned. Day 3: Homework review. Continued learning material with a focus on weak areas. Class discussions and Q & A. Day 4: Continued learning and class discussions about individual positions and professional tips. Day 5: students will take a Post Assessment to determine how well they grasped the information. During the Post assessment, I will also give explanations for each question. The student with the most points at the end of class is the Winner. However, we all win because everybody leaves with more knowledge!
A graduate of Tulane University and highly decorated, retired professional basketball player, Coach Reed has been passionate about serving youth and families for over 20 years. He has mastered remote, yet interactive small group enrichment, and has also organized and facilitated after-school programs. With a 5-STAR rating, he has successfully introduced the concept of Basketball I.Q. through Gamification and Game-Based Learning for the past two years on the Outschool platform. Students will receive 40 customized, interactive learning videos that encourage them to think through their options. They will receive a score and explanations immediately after completing the assignment. We will discuss weak areas during class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
