OCTOBER COUPON SPECIAL! Get $4 off each class with coupon code BARBA11UZG4 until Oct 22, 2021. Just enter the coupon code at checkout to take advantage of this great discount! Feel challenged when you have to write a paragraph? You've come to the right place! If you aren't sure how to get started or what to do, you'll learn it here! The beginning of great writing starts with a solid understanding of how to write a paragraph. The hamburger paragraph is a fun way to remember all of the "ingredients" that go into the recipe for a great paragraph. In this 1 time class, we'll learn the basics of the "recipe" for the hamburger paragraph and write one together. Then, I will show my learners how to mind map the paragraph. This is a game changer that embeds the process in the learner and allows him or her to remember the structure when they write a paragraph. Creating a mind map organizer is a great way to "chunk" the learning and remember what to do! Using the prompts provided, each student will create a mind map. After that, we'll address writing interesting sentences to bring it all together! At the end of our session, my learners will share their mind maps with the group if they feel comfortable doing so. This "I do, we do, you do" method of instruction is a gradual transfer of knowledge from teacher to student. Since paragraphs don't usually exist all by themselves, Teacher Barbara will explain how to take the components of the paragraph and expand it into a 3 paragraph essay! You can do it!
