Description
Class Experience
This is a 5 session, half an hour class. During our time together we will use art, books and museums to research the ocean. Day 1: Learning About Marine Animals We will be reading, researching and drawing marine animals, such as seals, sea otters, and whales. Day 2: Deep Sea Adventures (Deep see fish and bottom dwellers) We will be find out why these deep see animals glow and what lurks in the deep waters of the ocean. Day 3: Jelly Fish We will be viewing live jelly fish cams via...
Students will improve their understanding of the ocean and creatures that inhabit it. They will begin to research and write about basic ocean concepts.
Students will complete small writing and research assignments (paragraphs), and additional projects.
Paper (lined and white) pencils Crayons/Markers 1 pair of white or grey socks and one permanent black marker.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Student progress is given at the parent's request and daily feedback is given to the student.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
I will be screen sharing ocean animals from the following sites https://www.montereybayaquarium.org/ and https://www.aquariumofpacific.org/. Students will be encouraged to visit these sites for collecting information.
