What's included
Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students must commit to practicing each song given at least 3 times per day.Class Experience
This course is an introduction to piano lessons. Over the course of the 4 week period the students will learn and build upon their skills at their own pace. This is not a class that meets live. I will post pre-recorded videos to the classroom page at least once per week, and will be available to answer questions or give further information as needed. I also ask students to post videos of themselves practicing the songs given weekly - if they are comfortable doing so. The students will learn finger numbers, how notes move, basic theory - quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, etc. - as well as how to play several songs! I ask my students to commit to practicing the songs given at least 3 times everyday. Each student must have a piano or keyboard to make this class worthwhile. There is no need for previous knowledge about piano. The student will need the attached songs printed before the lessons. This class will cover finger numbers, patterns of keys, introduction to rhythms and music theory. Students will learn to play several songs and start to work on coordinating their hands, playing with each hand separately. I will introduce the musical staff, the music alphabet, simple scales and the bass and treble clefs. This course included 4 pre-recorded lessons.
Learning Goals
Students will learn basic piano skills and build upon them. At the end of this course students will be able to play several songs!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I'm Hannah and I'm so happy you stopped by my profile! I am currently a homeschooling mom, and have been a music teacher for half my life (16 years - you do the math;).
Music has the ability to strengthen the connection beween the body and the brain to help them work together as a team, which is why I incorporate music into a lot of my classes.
The more pathways a student uses for learning something new, the more pathways they have for retrieval of the information. Because of this, I utilize multisensory techniques.
My teaching style is "I tell you, you tell me, you show me".
As per one of my favorite quotes - "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."
I offer piano lessons for beginners and intermediate learners. My classes are thorough and time efficient, but I also work at the students pace to be sure they are grasping the concepts as we move along.
