In this Virtual Field Trip, we'll be visiting Yosemite National Park. Yosemite is known as one of the most breathtaking landscapes in our country, full of granite cliffs, massive waterfalls, and beautiful Sequoia groves. We will be following along with Google Earth to learn about the major sights of the park, the science behind the granite monoliths of the park, the waterfalls of Yosemite Valley, and the history of the indigenous people who called this park home for thousands of years! For this 45 minute class, students will get to see pictures, videos, and 3D representations of many of Yosemite's features. I'll also be sharing first-hand accounts of the sights and sounds of the park with students as we explore a variety of destinations. Students will share their observations of what they can see and hear throughout our tour. Students are not required to prepare anything before-hand, but blank paper and a pencil are great tools to take note of what to see when they get to visit in person!

“As we observe children, we see the vitality of their spirit, the maximum effort put forth in all they do, the intuition, attention and focus they bring to all life’s events, and the sheer joy they experience in living.” —Maria Montessori (The Child, Society and the World)
