Is your learner struggling with writing? Are they finding it difficult to begin writing? This lesson typically gets students to begin writing much easier and it gives them the opportunity to write what they want. Students will describe in detail a location of their choice. They may choose from: a city, national or amusement park, or another unique location of their choice. Preferably, I would like them to choose a place they've seen before or one they'd like to visit. In class, we will go through each part together and students will be given time to write their paragraph. At the end of the class, students will be encouraged to share their work, however it is not required. They may choose to type it and send it to me through the Outschool messenger system for detailed feedback.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to write strong descriptive paragraphs. They will learn how to properly structure a paragraph and write descriptive details. They will learn how to write a topic Sentence, supporting evidence, and a Conclusion.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in English from The University of North Texas
Hi! I'm Roxanna, and I graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Studies with concentrations in English, Biology, and French from The University of North Texas. It may appear to be an odd combination, but it provided me with expertise in a variety of subjects. I also have a minor in Social Studies, specializing in Native American History.
Currently, I am a graduate student pursuing a Master of Arts in English - Creative Writing. When I'm not writing or studying, I'm reading short stories, novels, and comic books, or spending time with my doggos and playing my Nintendo switch.
My background has allowed me to teach and mentor students in a variety of subjects and topics such as creative writing, reading comprehension, Native American history, and Ecology.
I am usually available for tutoring from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. So please message me if you don't see a time that works for you on the class schedule. Please contact me for any reason, and I will always do my best to respond within 24 hours or less.
I look forward to hearing from you and educating your learner(s)!
