Just as there are four major types of essays, there are four major types of paragraphs. In just four days, you'll learn how to write Descriptive, Expository, Persuasive, and Narrative paragraphs. We will learn the structure and style of writing one paragraph in class each day. When writing, students will be given several examples and topics to choose from, allowing them to choose their own specific topic to write about. Day 1: Descriptive - Describing specific details about a noun. Day 2:...
By the end of this course, students will have written and understood the four different types of paragraphs to prepare them for essay writing. Students will also earn how to write strong and compelling details in order to sharpen their writing skills and vocabulary.
All work will be done in class. If a student is unable to finish during class, they may work on it outside of class and bring it to share the next day. I do my best to offer enough time to write their entire paragraph in class.
Notebook Pen/Pencil or Online Word Doc/Google Docs
No grades. I only ask students to participate and share their work with the class if they are comfortable.
