Description

Class Experience

In this 4 class course students will learn how to create a papier-mache heart shaped pinata that they can gift to someone for Valentine's Day.  Students will learn the techniques of papier-mache and pinata making, painting skills and the significance of the heart shape.
The classes will meet 2x per week for 2 weeks and will be structured as follows:
Day 1: Introduction to Papier-mache and pinata making. Students will being to create the pinata and papier-mache the first side.
Day 2: Students...

Students will learn the techniques in using papier-mache to create a heart shaped pinata.  They will also learn painting techniques and how to best display their work.

There will be no required homework however some students may wish to spend extra time creating their projects outside of the class time.

2 sheets of large stiff paper
pencil
scissors
stapler and staples
glue and water
newspaper or brown butcher paper
paper towels
acrylic paint
watercolor paint
candy or treats to stuff the pinata
ribbon and paper clip for display

There will be no assigned grades or assessment as art is meant to be unique to the individual and there is no right or wrong.  I will assist students on how to improve their work and their own creative designs.

1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Students will be required to use scissors.
