Classes in my paleontology series can be taken in any order. This one-time class will focus on what fossils tell us about the past. It will include what we know prehistoric creatures looked like, ate, how they moved, and their behaviors. While the teacher will give initial instruction, this class will be mostly student-led through conversation, collaboration, and investigation. Students will collaborate and work collaboratively to argue their claims about fossils. Students will use their fossil knowledge gained in this class to discuss animal looks and behaviors in the past.
Homework Offered
An accumulating oral presentation will be completed in a group at the end of the class.Assessments Offered
Students will be assessed on their group presentation at the end of class. The teacher will assess the student use of fossil knowledge to argue a claim about a creature of the past.Grades Offered
