Paleontology in a Nutshell

US Grade 3 - 6
This will be a zoom session with students. I will have models and slides on display of fossils. Students can ask me questions. 1st 5 minutes will explain what a Paleontologist is 15 minutes will focus on what a fossil is and how a fossil is made and plate tectonics and what type of rocks to search for fossils in. 10 minutes will be a quick look at the history of Paleontology, including famous Paleontologists like Mary Anning. 10 minutes will focus on modern paleontology The remaining minutes...

I learned Paleontology at the University of Alberta and teach Paleontology at the Smithsonian. I have also been on several fossil digs.
