Dear parents and students, 🎨 🎨𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝑷𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔!🖌️📜 In this immersive course that fosters creativity, the young learners will engage with short, age-appropriate poems each week. They will then have the opportunity to recite, read, or echo the poem. We will discuss the poems as a group, focusing on story and mood, while learning basic poetic devices. We will also study a work of art that reflects the spirit of the poem, leading the young learners to create their own images. Finally, the students will be encouraged to write poems inspired by their creations! Print outs of the poems, as well as supply lists, will be provided before every class. The class will feature works by such poets and artists as Christina Rosetti, Shel Silverstein, Paul Klee and Gustav Klimt, to name a few. 🍁 Fall/winter 2022 times and themes 🍁 1 - Week of September 18 - Flowers 2 - Week of September 25- Dreams 3 - Week of October 2- Tree 4 - Week of October 9- Shapes 5 - Week of October 16 - Fruit and Vegetables/Harvest 6 - Week of October 23- Pumpkin 7 - Week of October 30 - Haunted House 8 - Week of November 6- Moon 9 - Week of November 13 - Colors 10 - Week of November 20 - Fairies 11 - Week of November 27 - Pop Art 12 - Week of December 4 - Self 13 - Week of December 11 - Assemblage 14 - Week of December 18 - Snow Themes are subject to change. ↓❄️ Winter/spring times and themes🌱↓. * Friday, 1pm ET, starting January 20* 1 - Week of January 15 - Winter trees 2 - Week of January 22 - Moon 3 - Week of January 29 - Dreams 4 - Week of February 5 - Secret 5 - Week of February 12 - Shapes 6 -Week of February 19 - Castle 7 - Week of February 26 - Night 8 - Week of March 5 - Trees 9 - Week of March 12 - Flowers 10 - Week of March 19 - By Myslef 11 - Week of March 26 - Spring 12 - Week of April 2 - Colors 13 - Week of April 9 - Birds 14 - Week of April 16 - Elf 15 - Week of April 23 - Animal Dreams 16 - Week of April 30 - Butterflies 17 - Week of May 7 - Fruit Themes are subject to change. *𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨. I hold both an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (Austrian State Preschool Teacher Certificate) and a Montessori Teaching Certificate (Montessori Europe Certified.) I attended the University of Graz, Austria and Padua, Italy and received my Bachelor's Degree in Romance Studies (Italian/Spanish).
~𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞~
Until 2020 I have been working as a lead teacher in a New Jersey Montessori school with children from ages two to five. Before teaching in the US, I did my training and worked as a preschool teacher in my native Austria. I have been teaching on outschool for two years now! I am still as excited and passionate about teaching my young learners as I have been on the first day, creating new classes and courses based on my students' interests as I go.
-As of fall 2022 I am bringing my music classes to the in-person classroom by teaching young learners in preschools and daycares in my area.
-In April 2023 I published my first children's book.
"Let's move like the animals in the forest" is all about engaging in the joys of creative movement!
- On my youtube channel "Music, Movement & Montessori with Ms. Mary-Lou" you can find fun and educational music class videos. Have a glimpse into my musical world!

I am a certified Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and have many hours (over 4 years) of teaching Yoga to young children in a preschool/kindergarten setting. Yoga may help children to regulate their emotions, manage their stress and make them resilient.
~𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬~
I love to play the guitar and studied classical guitar for almost a decade. One of my favorite activities is to use music and song to encourage my students to express themselves. It's been my experience that music lifts the children's spirits and gets them in the right mood for learning and exploring!
~𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲~
I encourage creativity through art and music: art helps children express their views of the world, regulate their emotions and encourages divergent thinking. Music and singing has the ability to strengthen the connection between the body and brain to work together as a team.
I enjoy deepening both mine and the children's knowledge regarding topics that interest and touch them (an approach according to Reggio Emilia).
I understand myself as a guide by being observant, active, engaging and self-reflective.
I create a prepared environment where children are given opportunities to explore, collaborate and express their ideas.
