Class Experience
Learners require no previous experience, simply a love of experimenting with new art mediums and an enjoyment of painting nature, especially landscapes. I will teach the key stages of creating landscapes, from the initial drawing and sketching through to applying acrylic. We will cover drawing, using acrylics, the key methods for using acrylics as well some more modern techniques. I will provide the students with an image to use as inspiration for our paintings. Students will learn to be brave with acrylics and come away with an understanding of how to use dark/ light and colours, as well as how to to use acrylics for varied effects. They will become confident in the acrylic painting process especially when tackling some detailed images and illustrating and painting landscapes.
No homework, just encouragement to continue with their art practice and to always keep their eyes and ears open for inspiration everywhere.
Acrylic paints (minimum 75 mls bottles and at least colours blue, red, yellow, white and black) Acrylic canvas paper pencils rulers erasers paint brushes a pot of water a cloth for wiping away excess paint
No assessment, however we will have a discussion in class and share our art works with each other, highlighting topics such as form, tone, contrast, definition etc.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
