Class Experience

The learning goals are:
Use a famous artwork to create a painting using elements of the famous painting.
Creating an original painting using another piece of art as inspiration.
Commenting on works of art.
I have been an educator for over 30 years. During this time, I have taught all academic subjects for grades K-5 as well as art and STEM.
The students will watch a video and create a painting inspired by a famous artist. They will also post pictures or videos of their art and comment on the art of others in the class.
Paint Brushes
Acrylic Paint
Cup of Water
Paper Towel
Paint Pallet
Something to cover the work surface
Clothes that it will be okay if they get paint on or something to cover their clothing.
The learner's progress will be assessed informally based upon participation in the challenges and the completion of the work of art inspired by the artist of the week.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The students will be creating their own works of art inspired by famous works of art. They will also be commenting and determining some of the topics of discussion throughout the class.
Acrylic paints will be used. They do not like to come out of clothing or other surfaces very well. If the paint gets on the child's skin, it will easily wash off with soap and water.
Pictures of famous artworks created by the artist of the week.
I will provide weekly videos as well as challenges that I create.
