1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
Each week, young artists will follow along with a guided lesson to create a beautiful drawing or painting. We'll begin class by helping to tell a story! Students will act out parts of the story along with the teacher; we'll make faces, sound effects, and actions so the narrative is interactive and fun. Then, we'll draw part of the story together in crayon! Step-by-step instructions will be demonstrated onscreen-- but students are always encouraged to exercise their creativity and make any changes they desire to their picture. After we draw, we'll complete our artworks using watercolor paints. As we draw and paint together, students will learn basic art skills and exercise their creativity. Art skills that will be practiced include: foreground/background, color mixing, drawing patterns and texture, using shapes to draw more complex forms, drawing animals, drawing people, and more! The stories we tell will be based on fables, fairytales, and folk tales from around the world! Sometimes we even take suggestions :). Come and join us for a fun and interactive class! ***************************************** To see more of Ms. Kristy's classes, visit my teacher profile here: https://outschool.com/teachers/Kristine-Mankin#us3u0MdGLD

I have been a classroom teacher for students young and old for many years, and I love inventing fun projects for my artists-in-training! This class was suggested to me by my 4-year-old niece. She loved taking art classes, but her family couldn't find a class in their area that would allow her to paint, which is all she really wanted to do! This class is for creative young artists who want to experiment with different art materials, but also want a little guidance to make beautiful artworks.
