Class Experience

Students will learn and practice basics of drawing and painting such as: caring for your paintbrush, color mixing, how to use paints, blending colors, drawing animals, drawing people, overlapping, drawing patterns & textures, making your artwork look 3D, and much more!
I have been a classroom teacher for students young and old for many years, and I love inventing fun projects for my artists-in-training! This class was suggested to me by my 4-year-old niece. She loved taking art classes, but her family couldn't find a class in their area that would allow her to paint, which is all she really wanted to do! This class is for creative young artists who want to experiment with different art materials, but also want a little guidance to make beautiful artworks.
Students may wish to continue working on their artwork after the class session ends.
 1 file available upon enrollment
Materials needed for class: 1. Watercolor set (Prang, Yarka, or Crayola suggested. Available on Amazon or in craft stores for $3-10.) 2. Crayons and/or Oil Pastels (Crayola suggested.) 3. Heavy paper (Canson or other brands of watercolor paper suggested.) 4. Paint brush(es) 5. Water cup 6. Paper towels Purchasing options and prices: All supplies can be found on Amazon or at any craft store. Some may also be found at grocery stores, office supply stores, Wal-Mart, etc. If using an online art catalogue (such as Blick, School Specialty, Nasco, or Triarco), please allow extra time for shipping.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners may show their artwork onscreen for feedback, as desired. My main goal is for each child to be happy with what they have created!
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students should have a parent nearby to help with art materials, and in case of mess.
