Miró's style was influenced in varying degrees by Surrealism and Dada, movement in the interwar European years. His connection to the land and his interest in everyday objects and in the natural environment formed the backdrop to some of his technical and formal research. Miró avoided academicism in his constant quest for a pure, global art that could not be classified under any specific movement. Self-contained in his manners and public expressions, it is through art that Joan Miró showed to the world. In this class we will draw his Singing Fish with black and then colors. Like Miro said begin while painting the picture begins to assert itself….the first stage is free, unconscious. The second stage is carefully calculated. reflects this blend of spontaneity and deliberation. Although its brushy, atmospheric background was freely applied motifs. I ill teach the step by step painting as his style is very simple, but abstract with his look of children's manner.
Learning Goals
Students will develop the abstract way of applying real objects to the simple art movement.
