Class Experience
I have been teaching Art for almost 10 years! I am a National Board Certified Teacher with a Master of Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from James Madison University. I also hold a current K-12 teaching license in the state of Virginia. I am skilled in watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing with pencils, sharpies and oil pastels, and a variety of mixed media combinations.
11 x 14 canvas (canvas board or canvas paper are also acceptable) Acrylic Paint: Black, white, blue, green, yellow, neon pink or magenta (or red can be substituted) A variety of paint brushes - I recommend having one large flat brush (¾ to 1 inch), one medium flat brush, and one small fine point brush 2 cups of water Paint palette (a white paper plate works great!) Pencil Eraser Paper towel or small paint towel Smock Easel - optional * Please keep your cup of water away from your computer and any other electronics. * Acrylic paint is not fabric friendly and it will stain if it comes in contact with your clothes. Please be sure you are wearing art-safe clothes and a smock. * Please use an art safe table, if you are not using an easel the paint from the canvas WILL come in contact with your work surface.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
