đ¨ Art History Painting Class: Explore, Create, Inspire! đ¨ GIST OF THIS CLASS: đď¸ Each week, we'll learn details about a different artist (for example- the whimsical brushstrokes of Vincent Van Gogh to the bold colors of Frida Kahlo) and make a creative expression in our sketchbook or on canvas. 1. Artistic Analysis: Develop skills to analyze and interpret artworks critically, including understanding artistic techniques, styles, symbolism, and themes. 2. Artistic Influence: Explore the influence of different art movements, styles, and artists on each other, recognizing connections and evolution within the art world. 3. Creativity and Expression: Foster creativity and self-expression by experimenting with various painting techniques and styles inspired by the works of master artists. 4. Visual Literacy: Enhance visual literacy skills by studying and discussing artworks, learning to communicate ideas and emotions effectively through visual means. 5. Education: *Master's Degree in Education from Saginaw Valley State University, specializing in curriculum development and brain research in the classroom. *K-12 Art Endorsement from Saginaw Valley State University, emphasizing art pedagogy and creative expression. *Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Oakland University, with certification in K-6 self-contained all subjects and Jr. High Language Arts/Math, fostering a well-rounded approach to teaching. *Certified Yoga/Meditation Instructor and Therapeutic Art Life Coach with over 200 teacher training hours accredited by Yoga Alliance, Place of Bliss Academy, Primo Learn, and Transformation Academy, integrating holistic wellness practices into the educational experience. If a student does not finish the assignment in class they are encouraged to finish during the week and bring back to share.Assessments Offered
I give formative art assessments in class in order to guide instruction.Grades Offered
Report cards or Certification of completion every 10 weeks will be provided only if a parent requests. Grades (if requested) will be based on effort, and skill. The role that grades will play will be encouraging :).

Suggested Supply List but I am open to alternate materials to create your masterpiece: Surface to create on (choose one from the following options): Paper, Sketchbook or Canvas Art Supplies: Pencil, Eraser, Sharpie Marker, Watercolor/Acrylic Paint (basic set of 8 or more colors), Paint brushes With these supplies, you'll be well-equipped to unleash your creativity and bring your artistic vision to life!
