Week 1Lesson 1Paul GauguinThis week, we're meeting Paul Gauguin and his vibrant Tahitian art! Explore his life, friendship with Van Gogh, and his masterpiece "Tahitian Landscape." Then, create your own colorful masterpiece inspired by Gauguin using crayons and watercolors. Explore her work, including "Østerbyvej in Skagen-Østerby," and get ready to create your own masterpiece using watercolors and crayons! Let's discover the beauty in the simple!
Each learner will need: - A watercolor set - A brush (any size will do) - A cup with water to clean the brush - Set of crayons (or oil pastels) - Heavy white paper (watercolor paper is preferred but not completely necessary) - Table protection (newspaper, butcher paper etc). - Smock or old t-shirt to keep the paints off of your child's clothing
Parents are encouraged to be close by during the classes to help their learner with the painting process to minimize spills (especially with electronics close by!) and to make sure their paints and markers stay on the paper.
