In this 4 week flexible schedule class we will explore the artist Van Gogh and create paintings inspired by his work! Kids will enjoy learning about the artist, creating their own pieces of art (a new one every week), and playing fun games.

Class Experience
In this 4 week flexible schedule class we will learn about the artist Vincent Van Gogh and create art pieces that are inspired by his work. We will talk about the Expressionist movement, watch a step by step video (created by the teacher) to paint artwork, and learn about the artist through games and puzzles. On Mondays around 10:00am (Eastern) I will post the lesson on the classroom page. There will be a step by step video instruction for the painting the week as well as additional...
Each learner will need: - A watercolor set - A brush (any size will do) - A cup with water to clean the brush - Set of crayons (or oil pastels) - Heavy white paper (watercolor paper is preferred but not completely necessary) - Table protection (newspaper, butcher paper etc). - Smock or old t-shirt to keep the paints off of your child's clothing
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents are encouraged to be close by during the classes to help their learner with the painting process to minimize spills (especially with electronics close by!) and to make sure their paints and markers stay on the paper. Short youtube videos may be used to show the biography of the artist's life.
