In this one time class we will talk briefly about Edward Hopper, We will discuss his life as an American artist and some of his most famous works before creating our own lighthouse painting. We will talk about color, composition, creativity, and also the proper use of materials and clean up. The students will be able to create their piece based on this painting, but in their own style and with their own personality and creativity. The class will be step by step allowing time for each learner...
Each learner will need: - A watercolor set - A brush (any size will do) - A cup with water to clean the brush - Set of crayons (or oil pastels) - Heavy white paper (watercolor paper is preferred but not completely necessary) - Table protection (newspaper, butcher paper etc).
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents are encouraged to be close by during the class to help their learner with the painting process to minimize spills (especially with electronics close by!) and to make sure their paints stay on the paper.
