Paint Like an Impressionist: Japanese Cherry Blossoms
Students will be inspired by floral artwork of impressionistic painters from the 1800's. I will demonstrate my step by step process of impressionistic style cherry blossom flowers as students follow along to create their artwork.

I am excited to paint these beautiful spring flowers with your young artist. Students will learn what impressionism is and be inspired by artwork from impressionistic painters such as Monet, Van Gogh and Manet. We will then paint cherry blossoms in an impressionistic style. Students will be shown step by step what I am doing and may follow along to create my exact composition. They will also be given artistic freedom to create there branches and flowers how they would like so...
2 files available upon enrollment9x12 Mixed Media Book , Canvas or Canvas Panel Small and medium flat/shader brush #8 or #10 Various round brushes #2, #4,# 6, #8 Large Flat/Bright #10 or #12 (I will have a picture of paintbrushes in the classroom so you can have a better idea of sizes) Pencil and paper Hair dryer Acrylic or Craft Paints dark pink white ( make sure you have lots of white, we use plenty) dark brown Blue ( your choice of blue for background) Turquioise (optional)
