Fun English Lessons for Young Beginners!
Paint by Language: Chinese 1:1 一边学中文一边画画!
Class experience
The purpose of this class is to make learning Chinese more fun by using art! In this fun, hands-on 1:1 class, we will discuss a seasonally based topic each week while learning new Chinese words connected to the theme. Because a new topic will be discussed each week, a student can join or quit anytime as the classes do not build on one another. For each class, I will teach the word's meaning, its pronunciation, and how to write the word in both pinyin and Chinese characters. I will be...
I want learners to be able to learn Mandarin Chinese in a stress-free environment while doing something therapeutic and fun like painting or drawing!
While teaching at several kindergartens, pre-schools, and tutoring children one on one at their homes in China, I discovered many young ones love art! Therefore, I like to use this to my advantage to make learning more engaging for students! While I am not a native Chinese speaker, I lived in China for almost 10 years and I speak Mandarin Chinese fluently. I personally love art and host zoom art nights with friends in my free time. I look forward to putting two things I care about together: world languages and art, and having fun aiding young learners in the process!
While learners can request to use any medium they would like (crayons, colored pencils, pastels, etc), here is what they will need if they would like to do watercolor: watercolor paper (this is a thicker paper made specifically for using watercolors), watercolor paints, at least one paintbrush, a cup of water for dipping the brush in, and a paper towel (or other towel to avoid spills/clean up). If your learner prefers another paint type such as poster paint or acrylic paint you can use any kind of paper that is sturdy enough for painting on along with a cup of water, paintbrush, paper towel, and paper plate/painting dish for putting the paint in.
Depending on your learner's age, this class may need to be monitored as young children often need help setting up their art supplies, working in a spill safe zone, and with cleaning up. Please make sure your child has their art supplies handy so they can get started as easily as possible.
