In this lovely little animal art class we'll talk about creatures of the deep - both real and mythical! - what they look like, how they move and what they eat, as we paint them into being! It's an upbeat session of art, information, education and imagination combined. Learners may create a pod of dolphins, a school of fish, a group of sea-turtles or even a magical mermaid, scary sea monster or shark! We'll let their minds run free! We'll discuss the ocean from an environmental aspect too, thinking up ways we can keep our seas clean and encourage nature to thrive! Creativity and appreciation of nature encouraged.
Learning Goals
Students will tap into their natural creativity, learn how to be resourceful with their art materials (minimising waste and making the most out of their paints and paper); they'll be mindful of the ocean and the creatures who live therein, and - by sharing their stories and pictures with other ocean-loving learners - they may well learn more fascinating facts about various creatures of the deep! This is an informal, fun and calming class, ideal for children who enjoy connecting with nature, talking about animals and who might benefit from some creative encouragement in a calm and settled space.
I'll also show them useful painting techniques and share facts about their favourite sea creatures.
