Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
In this one-time class, we'll take a dive into the ocean and create a step-by-step jellyfish painting!

🎨 We'll start class with a warm welcome and icebreaker question, then we'll move on to our painting!

🎨 We will use tempera paint and half a plastic cup (cut in half by a grown up before class) as a stencil for the top of our jellyfish.

🎨 While our jellyfish outlines are drying, we'll play a true/false game about some fun jellyfish facts.

🎨 We will learn how to use a wet-on-wet watercolor technique to fill in their jellyfish with color and finally, we'll add tentacles and finishing details.

Learners are encouraged to take risks and be creative with their color mixing! This is their painting and there isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to paint it.

I am a patient and positive teacher and I truly believe that everyone can create art! I love seeing learners build their confidence and have fun creating something they're proud of. Everyone's finished product will be different and we celebrate those differences! Also, as a former shy kid myself, I am very understanding of learners who take some time to warm up and there is no pressure in my classes to talk if that isn't comfortable yet. All are welcome here!

There is no experience required for this class- beginners welcome!
