Like so many skills, with practice and patience, anyone can be an Artist! I will be encouraging all my learners to just keep practicing their painting, whenever the opportunity arises.Class Experience
During this class, students will learn how to create this Christmas-y Snowman painting from start to finish! This class will be taught step-by-step, and is all about having FUN while exercising our creativity! No previous experience is needed! I like to give my students the 'Artistic freedom' to add their own spin on each piece we create, if they choose to do so. This class will begin with a short introduction and meet and greet of the class. We will then take a look at the materials we are using, and dive into the painting. Please have all materials accessible and ready to go before the start of class. This includes having the paint colors out on the palette or paper plate. (A nickel size amount of each is a great start) While painting, we will be discussing the basics of brush handling and techniques and touch on the Color wheel/ Color Theory. So this class will not only be about how to paint this particular piece of art, but students will also learn some basic art skills that can be applied towards future paintings. You can find everything that you will need for this class in the materials section below. The students will be painting along as I teach the class, so parental supervision may be required depending on age and skill.
Learning Goals
My ultimate goal for this class is to create and grow a love for Art in my students.
Learning goals for this class are to create a painting that we are happy with, one step at a time! I would also like my students to be able to walk away with the basics of brush techniques, color usage, and some basic art skills that can be applied towards future paintings.
