I will be reading Eric Carle's, "Mr. Seahorse" at the beginning of the class as inspiration to create our very own seahorse. I will teach the the students step by step how to draw the seahorse, while encouraging them to be creative. Maybe they want two or three seahorses or another fish in their artwork. While I draw and paint step by step I will continue to check in and watch students as they create, providing positive feedback and suggestions. Wa watercolor resist is created by drawing...
-Watercolor paper or cardstock (Cardstock will wrinkle with paint, and can be placed under a heavy book once dry to help flatten) -Pencil and eraser -crayons or oil pastels or both (Crayola Neon oil pastels are a fun option, I will be using these and Crayola crayons) -Paint brushes- a few options, small for details and some larger to fill in the water in the back -Watercolor paint -optional salt to add texture to the paint
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
