includedClass Experience
I will teach this painting, breaking it down into steps for all kinds of learners. Your student does not need to have any special art experience for this course, only a love for making art! I will demonstrate the art-making process and will be checking in with each student as the class continues to see progression and give feedback and any individual help that is needed. We will also have a brief discussion to share our knowledge and to learn some fun facts about jellyfish. We will have a fabulous time!
Learning Goals
In this course, students will get to use both drawing and painting skills. We will use basic shapes and line types to draw the sea creature using oil pastels. Students will practice using watercolor paint techniques to paint this fantastic undersea scene with jellyfish. We will practice several watercolor techniques: we will use wet- on- dry painting, wet- on- wet painting and watercolor resist. For a little added snazz at the end, we will sprinkle some salt on our painting to create an interesting texture.

Hello, everyone! My name is Jen. My passion is art! I am a certified visual art teacher (for all grades) and a certified multiple subjects teacher (elementary level) and have been teaching art for 15 years. I primarily teach painting and drawing. My favorite thing is to see a student have fun, gain confidence and learn something in my classes! In my classes, I break steps down to make art easy and enjoyable. I also teach ESL classes both online and in person. I love animals and nature. A lot of my own personal art is inspired by nature. I have 3 fabulous kitties at home!
