We will first learn about Vincent Van Gogh and his painting style. Students will see a few slides showing Van Gogh's art. We will use his expressive brushwork painting style to create a landscape painting of our own! We will talk about vocabulary: landscape, fore-ground, middle-ground and back-ground. The art making process will be taught step by step, in order to simplify and ensure success. I will interact with each student to make sure everyone is doing well, learning something and enjoying themselves. Students do not need any prior knowledge or art experience for this class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about Van Gogh's life and understand his painting style. Students will use his technique of using expressive brush strokes to create their own painting.
