Class Experience

Hej och välkommen!

Swedish is an old language tied to the Norse language but has also been influenced by German, French, and English.

It is important that the student has taken På Svenska Två- Next Level Swedish class before enrolling in this class. If your student already knows some Swedish due to family, please contact me if you like to register.

There will be a booklet that I will send to everyone upon enrollment that it is very important that you print out because we will use this in class.
I also suggest buying a Swedish-English dictionary.

Each week we will work with one chapter in the booklet. The booklet includes texts, vocabulary, pictures, and questions to work with during the class.

Week 1: Chapter Lova och Ester. Read, answer questions and introduce yourself.

Week 2: Chapter Landet Sverige/The Country Sweden. Read, answer questions and write about your country.

Week 3: Chapter Vem är jag?/ Who am I? Reading and constructing complete sentences by using the facts given about people.

Week 4 and 5: Dikter/Poetry Read, translate and write one poem in Swedish with the teacher's help

Week 6: Read the "news" and answer questions in speaking.

Week 7: Learn about the author Astrid Lindgren. Read, translate and write a short summary in English

Week 8: Learn about the artist Jason Diakite aka Timbuktu. Read, translate and write a short summary in English
